“The Streak” Game 1 – June 25, 1987

Salt Lake 12 – Pocatello 6

With 7,165 fans looking on in the 1987 home opener, the Trappers spotted Pocatello a 6-0 lead after two innings but rallied in the fourth with five runs and put the contest away an inning later with another five run outburst. Salt Lake added two more runs in the seventh and eighth innings. The Trappers got a gutsy relief job from Mike Humphrey, who entered the game in the first inning.  Humphrey, who gave up a three run home run on his first pitch, settled down to allow just three runs, on eight hits.  He struck out nine without a walk
